Requirements

There are a couple of requirements when it comes to having your documents notarized. Please review the items listed below so that you are prepared and have the appropriate identification ready at the time of your appointment. 

Acceptable Forms of ID

  • State-issued driver's license

  • State-issued identification card

  • U.S. passport or passport cart issued by the U.S. Department of State

  • U.S. military ID

  • State, county and local government IDs

  • Permanent resident card, or "green card," issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Unacceptable Forms of ID

  • Social Security cards

  • Birth or marriage certificates

  • Credit cards

  • School IDs

  • Library cards

  • Temporary driver's licenses

Witnesses

  • Witnesses must be 18years of age or older.

  • Witnesses must present an acceptable form of ID.

  • Witnesses may need to be unrelated to you.

  • Witnesses may not have any financial gain in the documents they are witnessing.
